Hey guys! Sorry it’s been a minute since I had the chance to write another blog. I find it kind of difficult to put into words everything happens here! Everyday is full of God! Last week we stayed with a host family in San Antonio Agua Calientes. The week was really difficult and challenging, it was also the first week of ministry. The home we stayed in created a new gratitude in me for all of the things I have in America. Hot water, Walmart, a car, a good plumbing system, air conditioner, walls all around my house, my family, clean drinking water, freedom, electricity, medicine, being born in America, health insurance, flea prevention medicine for my dog, fast food, and money in general. While I was missing all these things and plenty more, I got to experience true Guatemalan culture by living right in a small town in here for a week. I felt so much love from everybody in town. The local coffee shop expected to see us everyday and always treated us so kindly, people in the street never failed to say “buenas!” Our ministry leaders were so welcoming in showing us around their town and inviting us to go hiking, out to eat, to their church, and just hanging out with us in their free time. Our host family showed so much love to us through their hospitality.

On Monday’s we try to do more intentional house visits with people we have already met in order to grow their faith. Today the lady we planned to meet with was not home, so we kept walking to wherever the Lord lead us. We stopped and prayed for one lady and then stopped and prayed for 4 construction workers. They also prayed for us. We kept walking in hopes to find a certain lady we met last week that was dealing with her son being very sick for many years (unable to get up from bed). We kept looking and asking around but couldn’t find her. We ended up walking to the end of a neighborhood where we had no option but to turn around and go back. Two stray dogs cornered us, barked at us and wouldn’t let us go. The girl at the end of the path opened her door for us and we went in (thank u Jesus). One of the ladies we stopped to pray for also prayed for our protection (thank u lady)! The lady brought us chairs and chatted with us for a little while. We learned that her kids’ dad had abandoned them, she had a little girl and a little boy. Her father was always disappointed in her and her brother is an alcoholic that attempted suicide this week. She only has a job on the weekends and has been in need of more work, but is unable to find any. We prayed for her brother and provision for her. While we prayed she started crying, we asked her what was causing her to cry so much and she explained that just this morning she prayed to God to show her that he has not forgotten about her and that he’s real. She said we were an answer to that prayer. Ahhh so amazing. She told us that now she wants to reconcile with the Lord and come back to him like she used to be. Jessie lead her in prayer to reconcile her relationship with the Lord. Praise Jesus for so many things!
